Our Objectives
Our purpose is to stop the proposed Bendenine Wind Farm.
We are a group of local residents who have come together to protect our region from the serious and lasting damage this project would cause.
We believe this wind farm would:
Destroy the open rural landscape of Binalong and Bowning
Damage property values and deter future investment
Impact the health and wellbeing of residents
Disrupt local agriculture, tourism and the character of the area
Divide communities through financial pressure and misinformation
We are committed to ensuring the voices of the local community are heard and that the true impacts of this development are fully understood.

FAQ
Mental Health and Social Impact
Noise pollution, shadow flicker and infrasound can cause stress, sleep disruption and mental health harm. The project is already causing division and anxiety within our community.
Visual and Landscape Impact
93 turbines, each 260 metres high, will dominate the landscape, destroying the scenic beauty of the region and damaging tourism and local pride.
Property Values and Economic Impact
Properties near the wind farm may lose 10 to 30 percent of their value. Increased insurance premiums, land restrictions and tourism losses could cost the region millions.
Wildlife and Ecosystem Destruction
The wind farm threatens already endangered species, disrupts ecosystems, and will destroy native habitat.
Fire Risk
Large turbines, transmission lines and battery systems increase the danger in an already bushfire-prone area.
Threat to Agricultural Land
Turbine construction and infrastructure will fragment productive farmland, reduce agricultural viability, and permanently disrupt land use.
Aboriginal Heritage Risk
Significant cultural heritage sites in the area face destruction without adequate assessment.
Inadequate Consultation
There has been poor transparency and genuine community involvement in the planning process. Many concerns remain unanswered.
Unequal Burden
The Yass Valley is already heavily targeted for wind farms, while urban areas avoid these impacts. This project adds to an unfair concentration of environmental and social burden.
10. Short-term Jobs, Long-term Consequences
While the wind farm may bring some short-term construction jobs, the long-term damage to land value, tourism, and rural life far outweighs any benefit.
